Three different jobs
An interface material bridges contact gaps. A spreading layer distributes heat over an area. A surface coating changes surface properties. These roles are not interchangeable: first identify where heat enters, travels and leaves the assembly.
Compare the assembly
Hold geometry, heat input, ambient, orientation and airflow constant. Record interface thickness and pressure, surface preparation and measurement locations. Compare stabilized temperatures and repeat the trial.
Direction and electrical requirements
For composite films, distinguish in-plane and through-plane conductivity. Electrical insulation, EMI shielding and heat transfer are separate characteristics. Request evidence for each required property; a graphene ingredient alone does not establish finished-product performance.
